Fall Festival 2013

Fall Festival
2013 Highlights
September 28, 2013

To celebrate the 10th year of serving our community with this incredible day, we sure didn't  hold back!  Close to 600 people attended this spectacular day, blessed by God with warm weather and abundant sunshine.  Much of the crowd stayed all day, enjoying caramel apples, pumpkin decorating, hay rides, free raffles, taking a shot at the dunk tank (how much fun was it to try and dunk Pastor Glen and all the others!), tasting chili, toasting marshmallows by our new fire pit and SO much more.  The Pie Eating Contest was a huge success once again, challenging 36 children and 24 adults in their pie eating skills.    The popularity of this engaging event has prompted us to consider adding a third seating next year!  Follow the links below to either the video or the photo gallery for a complete recap of this memorable day.

Feeding Friends Outreach

Our cooking crew!
A great day of fellowship was enjoyed by all!
Many times, people have the best intentions.  They hear of a friend, neighbor, or acquaintance that just had surgery, or just lost their job, or are mourning the loss of a loved one.  They'd like to help out, provide a meal, but just can't find the time in their busy schedules.  That's where we fit in!  Periodically, those in our church community who enjoy cooking, come together to prepare meals; prepare A LOT of meals, enough meals to fill a stand up freezer!  So, when we hear of someone in our local community that is experiencing physical, financial, or emotional hardship, we can provide a delicious, home cooked meal or two, at a moments notice, and ease their burden just a little bit.

Canned Food Drive

Conveniently located on Route 130, a widely traveled route in our local community, we serve as a drop off location for The Upper Cape Cod Helping Hands Food Pantry.  Non-perishable food items and other personal necessities can be dropped off anytime to our church office,  and we'll make sure they reach the food pantry.  Partnering with the Upper Cape Cod Helping Hands Food Pantry is just another way we enjoy serving our community by keeping their shelves stocked and helping those in need.

      Coins for a Cause

Started during Fall Festival 2013, this outreach opportunity collects spare change for a variety of causes at various times throughout the year.   For Fall Festival, we collected donations for charity: water, an organization that seeks to provide the clean drinking water that is so abundantly available to us, to people around the world that are so desperately in need.  Check out the link below for more information on this organization and all that they are striving to do.

Over 400 guests braved what started out to be a drizzly day and enjoyed this free, fun-packed day of games, refreshments, raffles  and entertainment!  In addition to the Pie Eating Contests, Tractor-Drawn Hay Rides, Pumpkin Decorating, Chili Contest and all the other "regulars" at our annual Fall Festival, a few new venues were added,  including a competitive yet friendly Basketball Challenge and the ever popular Cake Walk.

Table after table had to be added to accommodate over 40 kids who participated in the youth Pie Eating Contest!

Gunner Lee, for the second year in a row, won the contest and took home quite an unique First Prize!
